Q: 2004 bmw z4 2.5 turbo ?
a friend of mine has a 2004 bmw z4 2.5 he really wants to get a turbo kit for it he's on a budget so he's thinking about getting a universal turbo kit off ebay. he wants to know if putting the universal kit in the car will be a good idea. And if so is there any engine parts he will have to upgrade? the kit comes with everything except the exhaust manifold and the down pipe.
A: Worst thing he could do.
POWER is NOT CHEAP and if you try to do it on the cheap either the installation will fail or more likely the engine will fail.
if he wants a forced induction system for his car (turbo or supercharger-they both make the same increase in power when installed at the same levels of boost) his best option would be a
bolt on installation of a supercharger made specifically for his vehicle.
a supercharger for mild boost installations is usually better than a turbo because its:
-lighter (no piping/plumbing)
-runs cooler
-easier to install and overall cheaper to buy/install
-delivers power earlier and in a more linear fashion
-easier to increase the boost if the engine is upgraded

its a mild boost, of about 6lbs, specifically designed to run on stock engine, and will generate an increas of approx 100hp, making the car serious quick.

Q: Strange noise on 2004 Z4 - Opinions please?
2004 BMW Z4 makes a strange noise when accelerating at around 1000rpm
Any Idea's before I take it to BMW and they charge me the earth?
A: Are you running at least 89 octane? they want you to run 91 but when gas was high I switched to 87 and started getting a noise. I switched back to 89 after running 1 tank of 91 and the noise has left. The car didn't make this noise initially when I started using 87, it took about 4 months.
Q: What chairty to give to?
Like a year ago for my b-day my parents got me a bmw and now that im not in high school i feel like i dont need that kind of car.Plus im really scared im going to crash it.So i was going to sell my car back to the dealership and get a used car than with the money left over i was going to donate to chairty i would probably i have at least around 1,700 or more to donate.Does anyone know who i should donate to ( im going towards kids/teens foundations)

A: you should be proud of your self, good on you!!!, in australia we have , canteen a foundation run for kids with cancer, l believe something along these lines would be a great help.
